Can mylar sheet withstand outdoor weathering in long run?
I wanted to use mylar sheet ( shiny or reflecting type) as solar reflector in my project. I wanted to know if it can withstand outdoor weathering in long run.
Is this the same mylar sheet that people use to trace objects onto? If so, then it won’t last very long at all! It is OK for some light rain, but after that several light showers or one heavy rainstorm, the sheet becomes saturated, dimples, dulls, and gradually starts to disintegrate. It certainly becomes useless for mapping!
