My love for the darker side
Was drawn from rage and hurt.
It comes out rhyming without reason
In sporadic bursts
In between these episodes
I am still me
This is who I would like
To let the world see
Lovechild- funny how that name
Always seemed to fit;
I don’t walk around in tie-dyes
Or day-glo, all that s**t.
I’m only a hippie because others
Have tagged me that way (as is)
If you ask me if I still smoke pot,
I’ll say it’s none of your biz
The truth is, I just love
Everything the Earth has given me:
Beauty, shelter and little seeds
From which I can grow a tree
Birds sing, stars shimmer
Energy hums all the time.
I do perform rituals and build atars
To the Goddess-
And I wait for Signs…
Lovechild- funny how that name
Always clung to me
All I know about love
Is that it can only exist when it is free.
