Lauder Beautiful Bath
Does your significant other really like a certain perfume that you hate?

My fiance absolutely loves the perfume Beautiful by Estee Lauder. To me it smells a bit too strong and doesn’t suit me. I prefer light scents or more subtle warm scents and have never been a perfume wearer. However the other night I bought my first bottle in a compromise, Pleasures, it is an Estee Lauder perfume similar to Beautiful but not as strong. I still can’t decide if I like it or not, but I mainly just got it to wear on the wedding day. Until now I have been quite content at Bath & Body Works buying Sweet Pea or Warm Vanilla Sugar… although the last trip I got some more flowery things like Japanese Cherry Blossom and Velvet Tuberose.

So… does your significant other have a perfume they love but you aren’t so fond of? Do you wear it occasionally to make them happy?

BUT from the other direction…
My exhusband loved Calvin Kline’s men’s cologne—and while it was fine (nothing to write home about, but nothing wrong with it, either) in the bottle—somehow, when it mixed with his body chemistry? YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! Seriously, it smelled like decaying lemons when he put it on. But he INSISTED on wearing it, and his mother bought it for him. It drove me NUTS. I am not the only one to notice it, either. Both kids have commented on it, and he’s STILL wearing it. My current spouse wears Ralph Lauren’s Lariat, and smells wonderful. Personally, I love vanilla-based perfumes, and have (I suppose) strongly enough stated my perference that what I wear isn’t an issue!
