Cocoa Buttercream Frosting
What type of frosting would go well??????
I made a rich fudgey brownie and would like to frost it but not sure what kind! Normally I make this recipe with white chocolate (omit the cocoa) and then serve with whipped cream and chocolate sauce but felt like making a chocolate version this time.
1 cup butter
12 ounces good-quality chocolate, chopped
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cp cocoa
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
5 eggs
1/3 cup half-and-half
It makes a nice, dense, heavy brownie but what type of icing? A fluffy buttercream? A rich ganache? Recipes that have worked for you would be appreciated too! I made the brownie with skor chips and plan to sprinkle pecans on the the frosting. Thank you all!
It is a very rich recipe – I had flour to use up (as the 10lb bag was on sale cheape than the 4 lb bag) and lots of Christmas chocolate – I’m taking it to work – let them get fat!! LOL
I gained a pound just reading that recipe! lol I like to put marshmallows once I take it out of the oven then return to the oven for a few minutes until marshmallows have melted somewhat. Let cool and frost with a simple chocolate icing. Sprinkle with nuts and you have a nice rocky road brownie.
