Sleep Apnea Chin
I feel guilty for wanting a surgery, I don’t know what to do!!! Help me?
I need orthgnatic to correct a class II and open bite. I am very self conscious about my recessive chin or the lack of it. I hve. An open bite and I have apnea because I breath through my mouth. All of this won’t affect my health except for less quality sleep and a weird profile. I am paying for my braces and j will pay for surgery. I’m 22 yrs old. I feel guilty because everybody keeps telling me that I shouldn’t mess with my health and what god gave me 
I am thankful but I feel like I need it.
I feel like if something bad happens to me it’s going to be my fault.
What should I do? Tomorrow I will see the surgeon for a consultation.

Excuse me but if you have sleep apnea, that is a serious condition and not one to be taken lightly. It can make you drowsy during the day and in some states, that is grounds to lose your driver’s license (sleep apnea). Not only that but it can affect your insurability and it can even shorten your life expectancy (sleep apnea actually causes you to stop breathing while you sleep). I know as I have sleep apnea and I don’t have a machine (see below) as it is too expensive and I am constantly reminded that I won’t live as long because I can’t manage to get a machine. And although you can get a sleep apnea machine to help correct this problem, it is expensive and what do you do if the power goes off (the machine doesn’t work)? Also, that machine is noisy and will disturb your spouse, if and when you have one.
If you can have surgery to correct this rather serious health condition (sleep apnea), you should have it. And as for everyone who tells you that you shouldn’t mess with your health, a) stop discussing it with them, and b) if you must, tell them it is to correct a serious health problem (sleep apnea) and leave out that it will also correct your open bite. And if they push, tell them that you will die much younger and may be uninsurable if you don’t get that so-called little problem corrected. Good luck.
