Blood sugar high in the morning low during the day?
I’ve started monitoring my blood sugar at my doctors direction. I’m using Accu-Check aviva. My level when I wake up is around 150 .. during the day its around 110 whether its 4 hours after lunch or 2 hours after dinner. Is this normal? I thought it should be lower after 8 hours of fasting.
Your body does a lot of things when you sleep that usese insulin.
It has a lot to do with what your blood sugar is before you go to sleep.
If you eat a meal to close to bed time, or hae high blood sugar before going to sleep, it will be high in the morning.
Don’t eat a meal right before going to sleep, a small snack is ok if your sugar is low.
It is very important that your sugar is not high when you sleep, it does damage and prevents you from sleeping properly.
There two things that can cause morning highs, the somogyi effect and dawn phenomenom. You can read about it here.

Neither gets you out of controlling your fasting glucose levels.
